$120.00

MACE mix 750 pupae/100 ml bottle, with buckwheat is a broad-spectrum aphid biological control that combines four complementary parasitoid wasps: Aphidius matricariae, Aphelinus abdominalis, Aphidius colemani, and Aphidius ervi, to manage both small and large aphid species without the need for precise identification. This diverse blend provides rapid colony detection, high parasitism rates, and long-lasting control, making it especially effective against mixed or persistent aphid populations. Suitable for greenhouses, gardens, and outdoor crops, MACE mix performs best in moderate temperatures and integrates seamlessly into preventative or curative IPM programs.

Additional Info

MACE mix is a comprehensive, broad-spectrum biological control designed to manage a wide range of aphid species across greenhouse, outdoor, and garden environments. This powerful blend combines four complementary parasitoid wasps—Aphidius matricariae, Aphelinus abdominalis, Aphidius colemani, and Aphidius ervi—to provide effective control of both small and large-bodied aphids without requiring precise pest identification. By covering multiple aphid sizes and species, MACE mix is especially well suited for mixed infestations and situations where aphid populations are already established.

Each species in the mix plays a distinct role in aphid suppression. Aphidius matricariae targets more than 40 aphid species, including green peach and tobacco aphids, while Aphidius colemani excels against smaller aphids such as melon, cotton, and cannabis aphids. Aphidius ervi focuses on larger aphids like potato and foxglove aphids, and Aphelinus abdominalis provides longer-term suppression of stubborn aphid populations due to its extended lifespan and egg-laying period. Together, these parasitoids offer high search efficiency, rapidly locating new aphid colonies by responding to plant alarm signals and actively dispersing throughout the crop.

MACE mix can be used preventatively or curatively and integrates seamlessly into integrated pest management (IPM) programs. Adult wasps are highly efficient, with a single female capable of parasitizing 100–300 aphids over her lifetime. Releases can be made directly onto plants or via release boxes, with typical rates ranging from 1–5 wasps per 10 square feet for active infestations or 1–2 wasps per square foot for preventative programs. Optimal performance occurs at temperatures between 64–77°F (18–25°C) and relative humidity levels of 60–80%. Sometimes marketed as Aphiline MACE or included in broader “Aphid Mix” programs, MACE mix provides reliable, sustainable aphid control for growers seeking effective, chemical-free solutions.
