Beneficial Fly Parasites
A mixed release of parasitic wasps for effective, long-term fly control
Start regular releases of parasitic wasps as soon as flies appear in the spring. Early releases allow parasite populations to reproduce and build up alongside the first generations of flies, making control far more effective than trying to suppress an established outbreak later in the season.
During warm months, regular fly parasite releases, combined with optional adult fly trapping and reducing fly breeding habitat, create an effective and economical fly control program. Good early fly control is always easier—and more successful—than attacking a population that has already gotten out of control.
Species Included
This product contains a balanced mix of parasitic wasps that target filth-breeding flies, including houseflies, stable flies, and lesser houseflies:
Muscidifurax raptorellus – prolific and adaptable
Muscidifurax zaraptor – aggressive and fast-acting
Spalangia cameroni – hardy and persistent
How They Work
We supply a high-quality mixture of parasitic wasps that develop inside fly pupae. These tiny wasps use biological “radar” to locate maggots as they transform into pupae, stopping flies before they can emerge. They do not bother people or animals.
Shipping & Use
Fly parasites are shipped in breathable paper bags with wood shavings to cushion them during transit and absorb moisture. Durable release stations are available to help protect the parasites once they are placed on site.
For best results, fly parasite releases can be paired with fly traps and fly bait to further reduce adult fly populations.
